This introductory Arizona cycling tour provides unique access to some of the Canyon’s most famous features:

Cycle the vehicle-free West Rim Drive for unmatched sightseeing opportunities.
Ride scenic, flowy Arizona Trail singletrack through the Coconino Ridge Ponderosa forest.

Itinerary

Your adventure begins in Flagstaff, AZ.
We’ll shuttle north to Tusayan, then hop on our bikes for a scenic ride through towering Ponderosa pine forests.
Enjoy rolling forest roads and fresh mountain air as we pedal to our comfortable camp near the historic Grandview Fire Tower, ready for our first night under the Arizona stars.

TOTAL MILEAGE: Up to 20 miles riding

Today, we delve deeper into the Ponderosa forest, riding enjoyable singletrack sections of the famous Arizona Trail on the Coconino Ridge.
This provides a perfect blend of flowy trails and forest scenery.
In the evening, we’ll shuttle to Grandview Point to watch an unforgettable Grand Canyon sunset spread across the vast horizon before returning to our camp beneath the Grandview Fire Tower.

TOTAL MILEAGE: Up to 25 miles riding

Our ride continues on trails and forest roads, steadily bringing us closer to the heart of the Grand Canyon.
Our ride culminates at Mather Campground, securing our place camping inside Grand Canyon National Park for the next two nights—an unforgettable experience that combines convenience with total immersion in this iconic landscape.

TOTAL MILEAGE: 18-26 miles riding

This is your day to explore the Grand Canyon’s iconic South Rim!
Enjoy an easy, leisurely ride along paved paths to the historic Bright Angel Trailhead.
From there, we’ll embark on a rewarding hike down a section of the Bright Angel Trail, gaining breathtaking perspectives from within the canyon.
Opportunities for ranger programs are also available, making this a fantastic Grand Canyon hiking and biking tour for all ages.

TOTAL MILEAGE: 3 miles riding, 3-6 miles hiking

We cap off our adventure with a ride along the breathtaking West Rim Drive—a perfect finale to our journey.
This road is closed to private vehicles, allowing us to cycle peacefully and stop at world-famous viewpoints like Powell Point, The Abyss, and Hermits Rest.
We will enjoy unforgettable vistas of the Grand Canyon South Rim before our return shuttle to Flagstaff.

TOTAL MILEAGE: 10-20 miles riding, plus shuttle

Flagstaff, AZ, 8:00 AM MST. Ending time: return to Flagstaff 3:00-4:00 PM last day. Getting there: at junction of I-40 and I-17; fly into Flagstaff (FLG) or Phoenix (PHX, Arizona Shuttle available).
