-DAY-BY-DAY
Itinerary
Following a one-hour shuttle from Eugene, we arrive in the Oakridge mountain biking hub to visit the local Mercantile and soak up the PNW trail scene.
We then shuttle to Indigo Springs to gear up for an inaugural ride on the Middle Fork Willamette River Trail.
This classic Oregon singletrack offers a perfect introduction to the region, featuring a technical mix of mossy roots, river-smoothed rocks, and refreshing creek crossings.
It is the ideal day to dial in your bike and build momentum for the epic week of shuttle-supported riding ahead.
We wrap the day at a stunning riverside camp, nestled on a picturesque terrace within an ancient, old-growth forest.
This morning marks our first deep dive into the renowned Oakridge downhill trails.
We’ll shuttle to Moon Point for a scenic journey through sub-alpine meadows, including a detour to a rocky overlook for panoramic views of the Diamond Peak Wilderness.
From the summit, you’ll drop into a fast, loamy descent that switchbacks through ancient forest all the way back to camp for lunch.
After refueling, we rejoin the Middle Fork Willamette River Trail, where the terrain shifts to a lush, rolling XC experience alongside mossy banks and towering cedars.
After conquering the trail’s punchy climbs and technical roots, we’ll cool off with a swim in the emerald pools of the Willamette River.
Today’s itinerary is a guide favorite, embodying the very essence of Pacific Northwest mountain biking.
We kick off with the legendary Dead Mountain Trail, a world-class destination ride known for its thrilling, flowy descents through magnificent Douglas firs.
The route requires focus and finesse as you navigate a dynamic landscape of root webs, rocky armor, and natural drops.
We conclude the morning in the heart of Oakridge for a riverside lunch at Greenriver Park before transitioning to our second masterpiece: Larison Rock.
This beautifully sculpted trail features high-speed berms and natural features that allow you to carry effortless momentum through the deep woods.
The world-famous Alpine Trail is our main event today—a name synonymous with epic Oregon mountain biking.
While the mileage is just under 15 miles, this ride is a definitive test of stamina, featuring a 2,000-foot ascent and a staggering 5,000-foot descent.
The downhill is a masterful blend of speed and flow, allowing you to fly through the temperate rainforest on an incredibly smooth singletrack.
The trail maintains a technical edge with ridgeline exposure and rock gardens that demand your full attention.
It is a descent that manages to be both wildly fun and deeply engaging—the ultimate “smile-inducing” finale to our big mountain days.
Our final day caps off the adventure with a shuttle to the summit of the Lawler Trail, a classic high-country Oregon ride.
The reward is a descent that is as technically thrilling as it is profoundly beautiful, winding along steep, challenging terrain.
You’ll navigate a gauntlet of root gardens, tight switchbacks, and rocky sections that provide a final, exhilarating test of your skills.
After conquering Lawler, we gather for a final celebratory lunch to relax, share stories, and recount the highlights of an unforgettable week in Oakridge.
