-DAY-BY-DAY

Itinerary

We meet in Moab before heading south to Cedar Mesa. Our adventure begins at the Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum.
After lunch, we’ll hit the dirt roads near Cyclone Flat, riding to Sheiks Flat and walking to the Yellow House Dwelling.
We then ride to the comfortable campsite that will be our base camp for the duration of the trip.

Approx. 15 miles riding, 2 miles hiking.

Today’s ride takes us to the trailhead for the iconic Moon House dwelling.
After lunch, we’ll embark on an intermediate hike with some scrambling to explore this remarkable 800-year-old multi-room cliff dwelling.
We return to camp with minds full of ancient mysteries.

Approx. 25 miles riding, 3 miles hiking

We bike to a large cliff dwelling, dramatically situated on a rock peninsula overlooking a deeply carved canyon.
After exploring this incredible site, we’ll retrace our ride back to camp, ready for an evening of stargazing and listening to the sounds of the desert.

Approx. 20 miles riding, 4 miles hiking

Conclude your cycling with an optional “extra credit” ride to Muley Point, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the San Juan River, Monument Valley, and the Valley of the Gods.
After a final lunch, we descend the scenic Moki Dugway before shuttling back to Moab, carrying memories of an incredible Bears Ears cultural heritage bike tour.

Approx. 13 miles riding, optional 9.5-mile addition

Bike Trip Testimonials

This was our seventh Western Spirit trip, and the first that wasn’t a singletrack trip. I prefer singletrack, but my husband wanted a trip where he could ride his e-bike and I ride my mountain bike. The guides and the hikes were fantastic, but what really made this trip was the luxury of a single campsite. For once it felt like a vacation and I could enjoy camp & the environment around the site.

Pat

A great trip! Our guides, Will and Chris, were super attentive and mindful of our safety. We were an older group and they took great care of us. Food was great. Loved staying in the same campsite each night after a hard day cycling and hiking.

Cynthia

Thanks so much to Shane and KC on a wonderful trip down to Bears Ears South. The guides were all amazing, food was delicious, the rides/hikes were great and my girls definitely would like to do another trip with Western Spirits.
